Preschool Storytime, Toddler Tales, and Baby and Me Program Information
Drop-In Preschool Storytime
Preschool Storytime is geared for children's ages 3 to 6. Younger and older children are welcome. Preschool Storytimes are about 30 minutes long and are filled with books, songs, fingerplays, action rhymes, puppets, dramatics, crafts, snacks, and more -- a variety every week! Each week is a new theme.
The Fall Session of Drop-In Preschool Storytime starts the week of September 15 and runs every week through the week of November 10. Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. Registration for the Fall Session begins Monday, September 8.
Registration is recommended but not required. Please register for the time you will attend most often. Registration guarantees that children have a nametag waiting for them in storytime, and helps give a general idea of how many people are interested in attending. Minimum registration of 15 children is required for a storytime to be held for any session. Note: Preschool and daycare groups are welcome at Drop-In Preschool Storytimes, but we do appreciate advance notice! Please call the Children's Desk at 825-0701, at least 2 days in advance. Thanks!
Toddler Tales & Baby and Me
NOTE: Toddler Tales and Baby & Me are FULL for the Fall Session. The Winter/Spring Session will begin the end of January.
Toddler Tales:
For toddlers 16-34 months and their caregivers. One child per adult. (Exceptions may be made but must be approved by Lynn prior to registration.)
Toddler Tales introduces nursery and action rhymes, songs, and stories. Learn letters, sounds, and new words, be active with music and movement, and interact with puppets. This program is tailored to the shorter attention spans of a younger audience and lasts approx. 20 minutes, with time for free play and visiting in the storytime room after the program.
Please Note: Due to overwhelming interest in Toddler Tales (and limited space) please remember when signing up for this program you and your child are making a commitment to be present for the entire 8 week session (week of Sept. 23 - the week of Nov. 10). If you are planning on missing more than 1 or 2 days please talk to Lynn before you register.
Registration for the Tuesday Toddler Tales will begin Tuesday, September 16. From 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Sept. 16, registration must be done in person at the Children’s Desk. If space is still available, phone registrations will be accepted after 10:00 a.m. Space is limited. Registration required for entire 8 week session which begins Tuesday, Sept. 23.
Registration for the Wednesday Toddler Tales will begin Wednesday, September 17. From 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Sept. 17, registration must be done in person at the Children’s Desk. If space is still available, phone registrations will be accepted after 10:00 a.m. Space is limited. Registration required for entire 8 week session which begins Wednesday, Sept. 24.
Baby and Me:
For babies up to 15 months and their caregivers. One child per adult. (Exceptions may be made but must be approved by Lynn prior to registration.)
Stimulate your baby’s senses and build brain power with short books, songs, music, rhyme, rhythm and lap bounces. This program is tailored to the shorter attention spans of a younger audience and lasts approx. 20 minutes, with time for free play and visiting in the storytime room after the program.

Mother Goose Storytime: Week of November 17
Mon., Tues., Wed. at 10:30 a.m. and Thur. at 6:30 p.m.
Come to a special storytime for all ages! Interact with puppets and sing along with traditional nursery rhymes, then make a special craft to take home. No registration required (exception: groups including more than 5 children – please let the Children’s Desk know which time you will be attending).
While attending library programs children under the age of 8 must be supervised by an adult at all times.
