In support of the goals and values of the Sun Prairie Public Library, the Art Committee will select, showcase, and promote art and artists that enhance cultural opportunities for all people.

Mike Lind

Mike Lind paints from his farmhouse in the Driftless Area where he also grows organic produce and grass-fed beef cattle. In his acrylic paintings, Mike seeks to explore the relationship between the topographical landscapes of the Driftless region and the flora and fauna (both natural and farmed) that inhabit these landscapes. See his work at the library from October - December.

Gail Mccoy

From July - September, the library will show art from Sun Prairie artist Gail Mccoy. Mccoy's collaged pieces feature cranes, moons, and textured backgrounds, all cut from National Geographic magazines. She is represented by galleries in Door County, Florida, and Cedarburg, and creates and sells her work professionally. Visit Gail's website to find out more.

Mike Bass

From April - June, the library will host work from Madison illustrator Mike Bass. Bass, who grew up in Wisconsin and is co-owner of eclectic art and gift shop Zip Dang!, is an illustrator and printmaker. The pieces at the library are from his series "Wisconsin Mythos" and depict creatures of folklore and urban legend from around the state.

Mike will present a program about this series on June 4th at 7pm.

Karen Timm

Karen Timm's exhibit features 3-dimensional art made from paper and altered books. She has been creating, exhibiting, and selling her art for almost 25 years. Using mainly her hands and an x-acto knife, Karen experiments with a variety of materials, methods, papers, and book structures.

Karen will be presenting about her work on Tuesday, March 12, at 7pm. Don't miss this chance to hear her talk about her process and inspirations.
