call for submissions: artist in residence

Social practice artists and artist/educators are invited to apply to a paid Artist Residency with the Sun Prairie Public Library for the months of September - November, 2023. The Artist-in-Residence will offer access to the arts for community members of all ages through workshops and studio observation. The project will offer opportunities for the public to experience the arts in action through open studio hours. The Artist-in-Residence will facilitate or organize a minimum of two activities per month during the length of the residency, and collaborate with library staff to develop book lists and library displays. During the residency the Artist may be asked to conduct media interviews.

  • Artist Stipend: $3,000 plus stipend for supplies
  • Residency Dates:  The residency will be held in the months of September, October, and November, 2023.
  • Applications accepted through July 30, 2023.
Arist projects and programs can take many forms and address a variety of themes, including, but not limited to: bridging the digital divide, accessibility of information, reimagining library spaces to be more inclusive and accessible, and equity in community programming.
